'13 FEB: Snow Days and Volleyball

Bring on the snow! In Seoul, February is usually our coldest month. Our family shrieked with excitement when a snow day was announced early on, and we hit the hills at a nearby park with our sled and inflatable tube.

During these frigid weeks, we continually thank God that we have a car this year. With three kids, it has definitely proved a wise investment.

Even though we've continued meeting with our volleyball team since the season ended (with open gyms each weekend), this month we took our involvement to another level. We now have two open gyms a week, and those who are interested (about 8) have joined a league (with us) to play against other athletes at the nearby army base. It's been a great experience to continue to invest in these young lives and see them grow and mature.

Another ministry has also started at Mark's school: Life Study Groups. These are smaller discipleship groups, each with a different focus. Mark is leading a group that is learning about the Christian testimony of Jeremy Lin, the Asian-American basketball star. And for the first time, Malia is leading a group too, recognizing and discussing the Biblical principles of grace and compassion in Les Miserables.

Aside from these amazing opportunities, our family takes a lot of time to laugh together. With Coby, it doesn't take much! We've recently discovered swimming (indoors, of course), and even Kona squeals and splashes each time we make it to the pool. We are surely blessed with much love among us.

Thank you for praying with us and for us. This spring semester, will you please remember these requests?
-Life Study Groups at Mark's school: for openness from the students
-Our volleyball team: both members from this past season and potential ones for next year as we meet with all interested players several times a week
-AWANA
-Seoul International Playgroup
-Mark's studies (writing his dissertation) and classes at school
